Port Clinton , OH - April and May only

Drift fish for Walleye out of Port Clinton, OH in the western basin of Lake Erie. This is the famous islands area where the big Walleyes are before moving to the deeper waters of Ashtabula for the summer. We also catch lots of Smallmouth Bass and Perch mixed in with good numbers of Walleyes this time of year. Limits are common!Fish aboard "The Trophy", a modern 30ft. Cherokee Sport Fisherman. This boat is very roomy with a 11 ½ ft. beam. Your feet are at water level while the gunnel or the edge of the boat’s side is waist deep and is very well padded. This makes "The Trophy" very comfortable and perfect for drift fishing!There is also a hardtop with drop curtains to get out of the weather as well as a walk-in private head (toilet).

DIRECTIONS TO MARINA

Port Clinton is located on the western end of Lake Erie, just west of Sandusky, OH.  The Ohio Turnpike (I-80 & I-90) is the main east-west route going past Port Clinton.  Coming from the east you will exit the Turnpike at exit 118 and go north 6 miles on route 250.  You will then exit on to route 2 west and then exit on to route 163 west.  This will take you through the town of Port Clinton.  This road will take you over a drawbridge (still route 163).  After you go over the bridge, you will only go 6/10ths of a mile and you will turn left into a drive next to a big building marked Coastal Marine Showroom (between two big white anchors) or you can enter the next drive by the sign: Clinton Reef Club. Go straight ahead, then bear right. The "TROPHY" is located on the pier directly behind the Clinton Reef Club Condominium clubhouse. (Just before the Happy Days boating company pier.)

Camp Perry Military Training Site (614)-336-6214 or 635-4021 Ext. 6214 or toll free 888-889-7010: They rent cottages, motels, and modules here (No T.V. but have A.C., heat and showers and are clean and VERY REASONABLE).  Located just 3.5 miles west of the marina via Lake Shore Drive (Route 163) to Route 2 West.  Must call for reservations and specific information. • Ponderosa (5 miles east of Port Clinton on Route 163 at the junction of Route 53). Excellent buffet and very reasonable
• Big Boy Family Restaurant
